Summer is here, which means blankets on the grass, beer and wine in your cooler, and late nights listening to outdoor music. Over Easy is one of the highest rated places in Colorado Springs for breakfast and brunch. Their pancakes, French toast, benedicts, and fresh squeezed juice bar will delight your senses. We’re also quite partial to their bloody Mary bar, which features all of the must-have accouterments from bacon to celery. Plus, many menu options are made with locally-grown produce and meats, and have gluten-free and vegetarian-friendly alternatives as well. This daytime restaurant is perfect for a first date or a relaxed morning with your favorite person.
Situated between Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs, Adam’s Mountain Cafe is top notch when it comes to delicious fresh and organic breakfast food. Set in a rustic atmosphere, almost like you’re in a friend’s living room, you’ll find a respite among the hustle and bustle as you pause to enjoy conversation with your lover. Not only does their menu reflect international flavors, but it’s also vegetarian and vegan friendly (not a whole lot of meat on the menu, actually!). We recommend the Orange Almond French Toast and Pear Carrot Ginger juice.
Painted a bright and cheery yellow, STIR coffee is located in the Old North End. They offer an array of cafe fare including soups, salads, and pressed sandwiches. Complimenting their fresh and tasty menu are caffeinated beverages and a whole host of libations to include wine, beer, and cocktails. As you sip on an “El Toro,” a mocha mixed with cayenne pepper and cinnamon, nosh on the Mystic Pizza topped with five spice braised beef, black berry hoisen, dressed greens and fresh mozzarella. Treat your leading gal or guy to a leisure lunch with a wholly local vibe.
This dreamy and ehereal cafe with vintage americana artwork is located in a turn-of-the-century house in south downtown Colorado Springs. Their simple yet evocative menu boasts an array of freshly made soups, salads, and sandwiches. We’re partial to the “Phillini” sandwich made with pesto, tomato, goat cheese all on toasted rosemary bread. Get some jalapeño bacon mac n’ cheese on the side, and indulge in a refreshing mid-day cocktail like the lavender martini. You’ll be feeling amorous by the end of this lovely meal!
A box of chocolates is a quintessential ingredient of romance. If you’re looking for a unique way to spend the afternoon with your date, take them for a guided chocolate tasting at Cacao Chemistry. Their sweet and savory pairings are carefully selected based on classic chocolatier recipes and in-depth flavor palette research. All their delicacies are made from fine French chocolate, locally sourced fruits and spices, and rich European butter. We recommend sampling their signature bark chocolates or picking up a gift basket as a token of your love.
Happy hour is happening at The Rabbit Hole! Find the entrance of this underground, cosmopolitan restaurant via a street level door that mimics a Parisian metro entrance. Fall into the whimsical yet dark fantasy of Alice in Wonderland as you sip on the White Rabbit signature cocktail and nibble on some succulent carrot cake. If your partner would love the trendy ambiance among eclectic art and decor, The Rabbit Hole is the one bar you have to visit.
Treat your significant other to a classic night out at Colorado Spring’s best and most romantic locales. The Famous has a laid-back Chicago-steakhouse atmosphere, yet it dishes up some of the best steak and seafood you can find. You can dress up for a formal affair, or take it easy, it doesn’t matter at the Famous! Go all out with a Surf n’ Turf dinner for your date paired with a luscious Bourbon Brûlée cocktail.
If you really want to go “all out,” treat your love to a fabulous three-course meal at the Penrose Room. This Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five-Diamond restaurant is a once-in-a-lifetime dining experience located at The Broadmoor Hotel. Make reservations early and have fun dressing up for the occasion! If you want to make it an especially romantic evening, make your reservation between 6:30 and 10:30 when the Penrose Room has live music and dancing. Be prepared when the bill comes – this treat will set you back at least $90 per person before alcohol.
Up the ante with wonderfully romantic dinner at Restaurant 1858 located at the base of Seven Falls. This western-themed destination pays homage to our city’s history dating back to the gold rush. Their elevated cuisine is perfect if you and your beloved are foodies and can spend a few coins of your own on a unique experience. Get your mouth watering with the Colorado Rocky Mountain Trout paired with a crisp wine at the recommendation of your server.
No matter breakfast, lunch or dinner, you’ll love these romantic restaurants in Colorado Springs. Some of these places also make appearances on both our Original Colorado Springs Food Tour and Pikes Peak Progressive Dinner so take advantage of our expertise and join us on a tour soon! We’ll take you to some of the best eateries in downtown Colorado Springs. Sample them all, then plan your own romantic evening for two! For more information on our food tours contact us.
