They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so why not make it the most delicious, too? Colorado Springs has no shortage of incredible spots for breakfast and brunch and on this week’s blog, we’re spilling the beans (coffee beans, that is!) on our favorite spots in town.
Urban Egg is a Colorado chain with four locations throughout the city of Colorado Springs, serving up everything from gourmet pancakes (like their Colorado Blueberry Streusel) to a nutritious, vegan Buddha Bowl and a host of other healthy options. In addition to serving up some killer breakfast, but they’re also committed to giving back to the community — using locally sourced, organic ingredients and partnering with charitable organizations throughout the state.
“Real Southern. Real Good.” — Denver Biscuit Co. lives up to their tagline with each mouthwatering bite. This Colorado chain has been delighting Colorado Springs residents and visitors alike since August of 2018. The menu — offering only dishes centered around their freshly baked buttermilk biscuits — pushes past the boundaries of this typically simple, Southern staple. Each dish is decadent in its own right, from savory, smothered biscuit sandwiches to dessert biscuits, like their Strawberry Shortcake or Giant Biscuit Cinnamon Rolls. One thing is for sure, you’ll leave Denver Biscuit Co. full and perfectly satisfied.
Located in the heart of Old Colorado City, this sweet cafe calls itself “The best-kept secret of Colorado Springs,” and we agree! Their menu has just about everything you could want from a breakfast menu — Eggs Florentine, Biscuits and Sausage Gravy, Stuffed French Toast, Scramblers, and more. Looking for breakfast for lunch? Bon Ton’s Cafe offers its full breakfast menu all day, every day.
This longtime local favorite is known for their giant plates of food, hand-shredded hash browns, and of course, their homemade green chili. King’s Chef Diner is located in Downtown Colorado Springs and boasts a friendly, family atmosphere. It’s the place to be for ambitious eaters and anyone looking to snag a days-worth of calories in breakfast alone. If you’re up for a challenge, order The Grump, which is essentially a heaping pile of everyone’s favorite breakfast foods, including layers of hash browns, grilled onions, cheese, bacon, and country gravy.
Wake up in the City of Love with a flavorful crepe from Paris Crepe! This charming local spot is perfect for those who can never decide between sweet and savory. Ready to have it all? Order the Deluxe Crepe for breakfast — a savory crepe with scrambled eggs, cheese, sautéed onions, scallions, potatoes, and green chili sauce — and indulge your dessert cravings with one of their delectable sweet crepes.
Celebrating a special occasion or simply looking to step up your brunch game? Check out Garden of the Gods Market & Café in downtown Colorado Springs! This globally inspired breakfast menu is full of unique flavors and artisan dishes, including a Mountain Man Hash and a perfectly seasoned Southwest Egg Benedict. Feel rejuvenated by one of their freshly squeezed juice blends, and don’t forget to snag a pastry from their market before heading out to conquer the day.
This one’s for our vegan and vegetarian friends! While meat-eaters are sure to find delicious options suited to their tastes, Adam’s Mountain Cafe in Manitou Springs caters to vegans and vegetarians, serving dishes like Huevos Rancheros, Orange Almond French Toast, and an elaborate vegan avocado toast! The cafe uses mostly local and organic ingredients, is focused on having a minimal environmental impact, and is an important part of the Manitou Springs community.
The Omelette Parlor is known for its interesting history, affordable prices, and huge (and delicious) omelettes! This popular breakfast spot is located in what was once the home of Ruth Etting, a famous American singer and actress. Loyal locals enjoy half-priced omelettes every morning from 6:00-7:00 AM, and kids eat free on Mondays!
Known for great lattes, wine specials, and charcuterie boards, Good Neighbors Meeting House is also home to some of the best waffles in town. Enjoy the sites and sounds of one of Downtown Colorado Springs’ cutest residential neighborhoods while you chow down on sweet or savory waffles, paired with a cup of locally roasted coffee.
This Downtown Colorado Springs joint features travel-inspired decor like custom table tops made from maps of the world and postcard menus, to complement their global menu. Brunch with Odyssey Gastropub and enjoy fan-favorites like their Chicken & Waffles, Brunch Soft Tacos, or Salmon Beni. Wash it all down with a mimosa or freshly made Bloody Mary from the bar.
