Description

A food tour leader takes groups of locals and visitors on fun walking tours of Downtown Colorado Springs’ top local restaurants. Each tour lasts approximately 3 hours and features 4-6 destinations. The tour guide is responsible for keeping schedule and ensuring guests have an outstanding experience from start to finish. This position also has minor administrative duties including confirming restaurant reservations and submitting an online post-tour report.

Qualifications

Are you the life of the party? Do you love to entertain, public speak, and share fun and interesting stories? When a new restaurant opens, are you the first to check it out and order something new? You might be a good candidate for a food tour guide!

This is an incredibly fun job that is perfect for someone needing a flexible schedule. Tours last only three hours, so shifts are high-energy but short. We are looking for someone who is a great conversationalist and extremely friendly with a good sense of humor. We also need someone who always wants to put their best foot forward and is always professional, prompt, and well-kept. Customer service has to be their forte!

To be a great food tour leader, you must know a lot about local food, art, and history. We provide a thorough training program, but it’s your job to learn the material and be able to present it with your own flair and personality. You will need to have enough material to engage a group of 2-20 people for a full three hours, making sure their experience is positive and memorable.

Schedule

Tours can occur weekdays, weeknights and weekends, so a flexible schedule is a must. Candidates must also be able to stand and walk for up to four hours at a time. A working smart phone is necessary to perform the duty of checking in tour guests. New guides will be given 0-4 tours per week, or approximately 0-14 hours.

Note: We are specifically looking for guides with weekday availability in addition to some weekends. 

Compensation

This position makes a base pay of $14.42 per hour and is also eligible to receive gratuities. After gratuities and based on their performance, most tour guides make $25-$50/hour.
