We’re here to help you create the perfect Father’s Day in Colorado Springs, Denver and around the state

Let’s be real, dads can be hard to shop for! You can only buy so many button-up shirts, bottles of whiskey, or recliner chairs. Father’s Day is a day to celebrate your dad (or the father to your kiddos) and all of the hard work they do. This year, instead of getting him the same ol’ gift, create an experience he will always remember.

Since no dad is the same, we’ve created an ideal day-long experience for the four types of dads, each within a few hours driving distance of Colorado Springs.

Maybe your dad is a combo of a few of these (or maybe even all of them!) so pick and choose to suit your unique dad!

The Finer Things Dad

Is your dad a straight shave, whiskey-drinking, art aficionado? This Father’s Day plan will make your dad feel like a million bucks!

Get spiffed up at Lincoln Street Barbers – Start the day with a straight shave and a fresh cut at Lincoln Street Barber in Colorado Springs. Located in the The Lincoln Center, your dad can get spiffed up while sipping coffee from the neighboring coffee shop, Building Three Coffee, and eating a pastry from Nightingale Bread, one of the city’s finest and most delicious bakeries.

Enjoy art at Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center – Head into Downtown Colorado Springs to enjoy a day of art at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. Take in world-renowned art from greats like Georgia O’Keeffe and Dale Chihuly.

Sip whiskey at Axe and the Oak – Grab an afternoon treat at Axe and the Oak Whiskey House located at Ivywild School. This award-winning whiskey is locally made and sure to please the taste buds of your finer things dad.

Embark on The Springs Signature Cocktail Tour – End the day the right way with a Signature Cocktail Tour with Rocky Mountain Food Tours (that’s us!). You’ll get to sample cocktails from our four different cocktail locations and hear about the processes and spirits behind each drink, straight from the mixologists themselves!

And if you’re not able to do a tour on Father’s Day, consider giving him a Rocky Mountain Food Tours gift card so he can choose the day that’s right for him!

The Beer & Ball Dad

For some, good beer and ball games go hand-in-hand. If your dad loves sitting back with a beer in hand and watching sports, this’ll be the perfect Father’s Day for him!

Tour a Colorado brewery – If your dad loves good beer, he’ll get a kick out of going on a brewery tour, and lucky for him, Colorado has become a mecca of awesome beer! Taste beer of all kinds and learn about the process that goes into making his favorite beverage.

Here are some of our favorite brewery tours in Colorado:

Explore Denver’s two sports museums – You probably didn’t know that Denver has two incredible sports museums — The National Ballpark Museum and the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame. These are must-see spots for sports fans who are visiting Denver!

Go to a Colorado Rockies Game at Coors Field – For a sports loving dad, there’s no better way to end the day than sitting at a ballpark and watching the sunset with the people you love the most. Oh, and don’t forget to get him a can of beer or two.

The Fresh Grounds and Campgrounds Dad

If your dad’s interests are anything like those of Ron Swanson from Parks and Recreation (think good black coffee, bird watching for fun, and whiskey by a fire), then this is his day.

Coffee and fresh air – Make your dad a cup of fresh coffee from one of Colorado Springs’ best coffee roasters. Whether it’s on a walk or from the comfort of his front porch, let him enjoy his cup of joe in the fresh air.

Some of our favorite spots for good beans in Colorado Springs include:

Head into the wilderness – From bird watching to mountain biking and everything in between, Colorado has something to offer every outdoorsman. Head into the mountains and let your dad pick his activity of choice.

Sleep under the stars – End the day with a campfire, some whiskey, and stargazing! Some of our favorite spots to camp include:

The Music Buff

Does your dad’s ideal day involve music, music, and more music? Treat him to a day of music in Denver and top it off with a live music experience at one of Colorado’s well-known concert venues.

Browse through records in Denver – This might not seem fun to everyone, but the way to a music lovers heart is an hour or two of sifting through records at a record store.

Here are a few beloved Denver record stores you should be sure to check out:

Jam at a local music store – Whether he’s in need of new strings or just wants to look around, head to one of these four Denver music shops and let him wander and jam out as he pleases!

Catch a concert – Denver is full of amazing concert venues! Plan ahead and surprise him to tickets for a show at one of these awesome Denver venues!

BONUS: City Park Jazz series — this one’s free!

If you’re not physically present with your dad this Father’s Day, you can still treat him to an unforgettable and thoughtful experience with a gift card to Rocky Mountain Food Tours! Wherever you are this Father’s Day, honor your dad for all of his unique quirks and interests — because no two dads are the same!

Cheers! Your Rocky Mountain Food Tours Team
